According to Beijing 2022- The Playbook for Athletes and Team officials, all Games participants must take the necessary COVID-19 (PCR) tests required to enter China. If not fully vaccinated, participants shall take an extra immunoglobulin (IgM) antibody test.
The nucleic acid RT-PCR test should be conducted by medical professionals with a nasopharyngeal swab and the sampling method should be clearly stated on the test report.
The IgM serum antibody test must be performed by medical professionals through venous blood sampling and the test report should include the following terms: Serum, IgM, Venous, venipuncture, etc. Finger-prick blood testing would not be accepted. The report also needs to clearly state testing methods, including: (1) Chemiluminescence; (2) Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
All test reports should contain the following essential information: the applicant's name, gender, date of birth and passport number, the doctor or the medical institution's name, signature and stamp, address and contact information. The sampling time and test results must be clearly stated.
In order to make it more convenient for athletes and relevant persons to do the right tests, Chinese embassy in Austria recommends a list of laboratories for their reference and will update it regularly.
